*** Remember that English isn't my first language so I want to apologize for the multiple mistakes I have surely done while writing this. Also if you notice errors or want to make any suggestion please comment it in the thread thank you <3 *** Shin'en. Shin'en is the easier of the 2 Bosses known as Riftworlders. In this guide I'll show the most common teams used to beat him and I'll include a new strategy using a team composed only by farmable units (Bahl^ starter). Why to farm Shin'en. There are a few reasons to farm Shin'en. - To get the character Shin'en . Shin'en has a 100% recruit chance the first team the dungeon is beaten (50% after the first time). Each new recruitment will add 3% SB and 1% LB to the character. Extra recruitments can be obtained from the 80/100L chests. Because of this when maxing Shin'en is recommendable to use a Kiss Bottle/Negotiator character and/or an 80/100L team. - To get Companions Tickets . These tickets are really rare to get but each of them allows you to pull once on the Companions of Truth Pact. It is recommendable to farm until you get 10 Companion Tickets and use them when a CoT event is active. The tickets are found in the A/B luck chest in Shin'en so to farm them a Luck Team is needed. - Apart from this Shin'en gives some exclusive companions, money, and a good amount of experience. Some explanations before starting. Unlike other stages in the game the Riftworlders difficulty changes depending on how far we have advance through the story. - Before clearing Chapter 35, difficulty level is 4; - After clearing Chapter 35 it drops to 3; - After clearing Chapter 36 it drops to 2; - After clearing Chapter 37 it drops to 1; - After clearing Chapter 38 it rises to 4 again; Regardless of which chapters of the story are cleared, twice a day during the hour that goes from 00:00-1:00 and 12:00-13:00 UTC Shin'en will enter in "Hard Mode" hour and the difficulty level will be 4. This is important since the character Shin'en can be only recruit in the hardest difficulty level so, unless is specified, the guide will be always referring to that difficulty level. The adds. Shin'en spawns together with two adds and two traps: - Shin'en Staff These adds are going to do 2 attacks per turn. Each Staff will always cast Virus Area 1 (reduce your characters HP to 25%), then the will move and will (or sometimes not) cast Breath Attack. This attack is strong enough to kill some of your weaker units even if they didn't get hit by Virus Area. This means that the adds are able to kill your whole party by themselves in one single turn, so is important we get rid of them as soon as possible (normally that means turn 1). - He will also spawn with 2 Kinetic Traps that will shoot flames while moving around the screen. These kinetic Traps hit really hard and are incredibly hard to avoid when moving. So it is important to disarm them during the first or second turn. Shin'en will summon the traps again after 3 turns. The boss. Info got from @Silver_Mitsuki and own experience while testing the different teams for this guide. Shin'en has a little more than 1M HP. The boss is immune to impairs, status effects and all types of magic with the exception of photon that will deal 10% damage. He will take 300% damage from physical so physical is again the way to kill this boss. He will repeat the same attack pattern during the fight but will interrupted when the boss HP reach certain thresholds. Normal attack pattern (cycle): - Synergy Wave, 1 Row - Synergy Wave, 1 Column - Summon 2 Staves + Customized Attack. Synergy wave: The boss attacks are pretty strong physical attacks and will kill weaker characters. So you should pincer him vertically or horizontally depending on which attack he is going to do. *** If you are using Olber^ in your party once you stack enough physical capsules you can take hits from the boss attacks without dying *** Customized Attack. Shin'en will always summon 2 staves and will do one of the following attacks alternatively: Death Roulette or Level 30, Area (2). * Death Roulette will randomly select one of the members of the party and will cast instant Death 100% chance on them. The only ways to avoid dying by death roulette are: --- Death Ward (100% resistance to death) or Death Guard (50% resistance). This can be got from companions (like Demon's Buckler), equip skills (like Death Guard on Odin^) or other characters skills (like Death Ward Chain from Amisandra^) ---Using Olber^ self sacrifice skill to absorb the "Death" impact from characters that have less HP than him. * Level 30, Area (2) This attack will delevel our units to level 30 in an Area (2) around him. Since Shin'en always summons staves in the same turn they will most likely kill any unit that was deleveled in that turn. HP threshold attacks The first time we pass certain HP levels; Shin'en will interrupt his normal attack pattern and change his customized attack for one of the following. **Note that it is possible to skip the 70% HP threshold attack if you deplete his HP too fast At 70% (~700,000 HP): -"You spot a breach in his defense" All physical and magical resistances are dispelled. He is now vulnerable to physical impairs. - Punching bag, All This will kill your whole party unless you are using Evasive Arts. At 30% (~300,000 HP): -"Fearsome forces are in motion" All physical and magical resistances are dispelled+ Death Roulette. - Energy emission, All Devastating attack that will kill the whole party. Beating Shin'en with different team options: Even if the fight looks really hard the first times, after a few tries you should get used to the move of the kinetic traps so disarm them in the first turns won't be hard. Depending on the units you own you can farm Shin'en with different ease. There are a lot of teams and strategies you can use to kill him, I'm just going to list a few of the most common/easy teams and will include a full farmable team (it still requires Bahl so is only available for people that started with her, if you started with Grace you will need some additional hon-farmable units). If you still have any doubts of how you can beat Shin'en with your current characters feel free to answer this post and we can give you personal advice about what team you could use to farm him So depending of the characters you have from the following list you will be able to kill Shin'en using different strategies: Kinetic Disarmers: Mizell/Mizell^ + Mizell O , Nazuna/Nazuna^ + Nazuna O Trinity Members (order by priority from best to worst): Bahl^, Snaip^, Ma'curi, S'naip, Bahl Physical Tappers (order by priority from best to worst): Gatz^, Schweiz^, Peyrna, Tronic Gal, Annu Characters you own: Click on the to go to the specific team strat (they are ordered from easiest strat with hardest to get team to hardest strat with easiest to get team) -2 Trinity Members + 1 Tapper from the list + 1 Kinetic Disarmer from the list: 3 turns Kill -2 Trinity Members + 1 Tappers from the list: 4 turns Kill -Bahl^ + Snaip^: 4 turns Kill with paralyze -Farmable Team (Bahl starter accounts) As I said above in this guide I only explained the most common teams/methods, of course there are other combination of characters that you can have, just always try to do the most powerful/easier party you can, if you are missing some character and your damage isn't enough to done method just go to the next one on the list. In example some people maybe only have 1 trinity member, i.e. Snaip^ but they maybe have one additional tapper: Gatz^ which will allow them to do a kill in 4 turns with or without using taps in the first turn (that will mostly depend of their companions and the composition of the rest of their team). Since there are other teams and compositions I tested but couldnt publish them here if someone wants to know exactly which team/method would adjust better to their box can write a post here and we will help them to find their ideal team/method to farm Shin'en easily :3 Links to other guides and sources Shin'en drops info from the wiki Wiki Other Forum Guides [GUIDE] Distilled Shin'en details!
