I just put in useless OII from daily quests for 75k exp a piece. It's slow and no clue on efficiency but it's better than waiting on trading post.

MM^^ made from MM^ and MM. The 3x xp event is designed for OII buddies.

TLDR - Stock up on MM^^s and wait for the guaranteed bonus exp event for anything that's not an O II companion.

The long version - Why are MM^^s better?
The 3x exp event, as Person Man stated, is really only viable for O II companions. Normally you get x2 exp for using the same companion as a material as the companion you're looking to upgrade. In most cases this is a very small amount. A lv1 Holy Dragon (SS) fed into another Holy Dragon is only 5686 exp and at x3 it would be 8529 exp. Assuming you get no bonus experience you'll need (2,274,416 / 8529) = 266.6 Holy Dragons to level ONE Holy Dragon to max level. That means you have to beat RDK an average of 2666 times since the drop rate is only 10% after the first drop... 1599.6 times since the drop rate is only 10% after the first and you need 6 Holy Dragons. If you use MM^^s it's (2,274,416 / 200,000) = 11.3 which is much more reasonable and that's not including bonus experience.

OII companions are different in that they get x14 exp from duplicates and x21 during the x3 event which means a lv30 OII Spinetrich Kino O II gives 1,050,000 exp at x14 and 1,575,000 at x21. That's equal to a little under 8 MM^^s per O II duplicate. Spinetrich OII needs (12,719,561 - 1,550,568) = 11,168,993 to reach max level (they start at level 30) so if we assume no bonus experience that's (11,168,993/200,000) = 55 MM^^S. But if we use lv 30 Spinetrich Kino O II's then you'll need (11,168,993 / 1,575,000) = 7.1 lv30 SK OIIs during the x3 event.

The x3 event is better for O II companions since you're effectively guaranteed a 50% bonus for every O II duplicate used. The guaranteed bonus event could be better only if you're able to guarantee an average bonus above 50% which won't happen because 25% bonuses are far more common.

The bonus exp event is better for all other companions since normally the only extra experience you get using MMs is the random bonuses and duplicates of non-O II companions is pitiful.

Bonus: O companions (not OII) are always lv 1/1 and give 300k experience making them 50% better than MM^^s (though harder to farm). You can get a semi-reliable amount from running Strike Backs with l80/l100 groups and it doesn't matter which companion you're leveling - they'll always be 300k exp.

What if I fed 1 MM^^ on a lvl1 holy dragon and then fed this dragon to another lvl1 holy dragon, is this better than a single MM^^(during 3xEXP)?

Yes it is. Investing a MM^ brings the Dragon to Level 13 (it is even better to add a MM to it, since 53000 EXP will make it reach Level 14), At Level 13 (14), a Holy dragon yields 36959 (39802) EXP naturally. The Bonuses (x2 and x3 Multiplier) increase it to 119406, which means you only need 20 Dragons to max out one. This is the method I used to get rid of my spare Axion Dragons.

This is more efficient than using a MM^^ (EXP wise, not neccessarily Coin wise!), as due to the increasing EXP requirements per Level, a MM^ yields a better relative value. Upgrading them during a Increased EXP Event is still better, though.

Also, selling them is better this way (5600 Coins per Holy Dragon compared to 4000 Stand-alone Selling Costs (100 Upgrade Costs + Opportunity Costs of MM^ (3000), MM (500) and HD Level 1 (400). Still not a way to get rich, but if you have spare Dragons (which you will probably have a lot of in case of Axion Dragons) ist a nice way to get rid of them.
