So, with the most recent update, we get a set of new bosses, one physical and four "super-elements" (Sun, Moon, Photon, Graviton). These bosses are actually pretty easy IMO and most can be beaten without an optimal team, since they still take damage from the old elements. Overall they're slightly harder than Dragon Kings and easier than Riftworlders/Royal Rings. To prove it, I'm making a guide on how I beat them with no natural Z nor magic tappers. The following team is basically just me scrambling with whatever 100L units I have that fits the situation. Also, for some reason, you unlock them in order of descending difficulty, so Garuda is the hardest and Agartha is the easiest. Note that in a later update, MW will release a Hard Mode version for each of them, and for those you probably would need an optimal team. Overall Spoiler The bosses actually follow very similar patterns. The bosses follow their regular attack patterns most of the time. Most characters can survive a hit from these attacks, although leaving them severely injured. At around half health, the boss will glow, indicating it will do a special move the next turn. You should probably avoid this. At around 20% health, the boss will start glowing again. It indicates it's entering berserk mode. In this mode, it will use strong (but still survivable) attacks for two turns, and you should kill it during this phase. If you fail, it will enter unwinnable mode by spamming OHKO attacks. Each of them have two types of minions. One is pretty weak and usually does Breath Attack, Area (1) (or area2 if at low HP). The other is tougher to kill and has different gimmicks depending on the stage. The boss will resummon these minions regularly throughout the battles. It's very dangerous to keep them alive as they can block your path, gang up on someone, or killing someone injured from a boss attack. The general strategy is to focus on killing the minions while avoiding the boss attacks. Only focus on the boss if there are no minions left. As you can survive one hit, it's okay to get into boss AoE for the sake of killing all minions. Don't do it if won't result in all minions dead. When the boss reaches ~50% HP, avoid the special attack. Also, you should not use any PP for most of the fight, because they charge very slowly and you need at least two for the final turns. When boss reaches critical HP, it glows and enters berserk mode. You have two turns to kill it, so use up all your PP. If you fail, the boss enters unwinnable mode and time to give up or S/L. Garuda - Sun Spoiler Co-op with someone who has Feno and magic tappers. But seriously she's so much harder than everything else. Also I'm still farming those damn Moon Kings. The first and the hardest boss. Her attack pattern consist of RNGs and she has by far the most annoying mobs. Boss: First turn, she will lock-on to random 12 tiles, cast Scorch to furthest unit, and does Breathe, Area(2). First Solar Flare Attack to targetted tiles. Does lock-on, Scorch, and Breathe again. Fires again, plus remove Solar resistance and summons two Baethos. Repeats to step 1. Step 1 to 4 comprises her regular pattern. At around half HP, she will start glowing and summon several mobs. Next turn, she will cast Solar Flare Attack, 3 Columns. Then she resumes her pattern. At around 200k to 300k HP, she will say "Falling back...", flies offscreen and summons a lot of Baethos. She comes back crashing, dealing physical damage to all your characters, around half HP. Next turn after falling down, she resumes doing lock-on and Scorch. However, she also starts glowing to indicate her berserk mode. In berserk mode, her attack pattern stays, but she will cast Solar Flare Attack!!!, which is a OHKO, cast Scorch on two units instead of one, and summons two Neottoth in addition to the two Baethos as reinforcements. Minions: Neottoth: The weaker one. Does Breathe Attack, Area(1) after moving. Baethos: The annoying one. Does Solar Flare Attack, vertical 2 before moving. Also, pincering Garuda will cause them to trigger Detonate, Area(2). My team: Ellvern^ + Tronic Gal - CT skill, Giga Regen, PP Amp, and HP+20%. Your primary mover. A'merpact^ + Moon King Z - All Ice skills and Matk buff. Piz'fer^ + Moon King Z - All Ice skills Leviathan + Moon King - All Ice skills Amina^ + Moon King - CT, and heal skills. Secondary mover. Invincible^ + Moon King Z - Aerial Shield and the rest are whatever. Ellvern^ is suprisingly useful here. I love those 12 second move times . Amina's Extend Chain is crucial if you want to kill the mobs quickly. Invincible's shield makes your unit pretty tanky. They can survive one hit from boss and one hit from mob when shielded. The other three are your damage dealers. A'merpact > Piz'fer > Leviathan in terms of damage, so try to chain A'merpact as much as possible. Strategy: First turn, pincer all 4 Neottoths. This should result in them all with less than half HP. Don't pincer the bottom left one if the tiles around it are targetted, though. Second turn, hopefully none of your units get Solar Flare'd and then Breathe Attacksed. Now most of the mobs should be clumped together at the leftmost or rightmost column. Finish off all the Neottoths, while damaging the Baethos if possible. Don't worry about avoiding the Baethos' attacks. Now spend the next two turns killing the two Baethos before Garuda summons more. They should go down in two turns if you use Extend Chain to get all units attacking each enemy. Garuda summons two more Baethos. Again, kill them before she summons more. Make sure nobody pincers Garuda until all Baethos are killed. Your units can tank one hit from boss, so it's okay to stand in targetted tiles as long as no mobs are nearby. Use Amina to still let scorched units participate in pincers. Do this until she reaches around half HP. At around half HP, Garuda starts glowing. GET AWAY FROM HER, because she will attack with Solar Flare Attack 3 columns next turn, which will kill anyone caught in it. She also summons a bunch of mobs, so sometimes RNG screw you over and prevents you to get everybody to safety. In that case just S/L. When moving, try to spread your units in the 2 safe columns. You don't want to get locked in by the mobs. She does her 3 columns (actually 4) attack, and hopefully the mobs don't kill anybody. Spend the next few turns killing all mobs. Focus on the Neottoths first because of their less predictable attacks. Afterwards, do the same old step 4 until she reaches around 200 to 300 HP. At low HP, Garuda will fly off and summons a lot of Baethos. Use your PP and kill as many as possible. With a PP and everyone in the chain, the Baethos should die in one pincer. Again, use Extend Chain to chain everyone. Garuda falls down and deals damage to everyone. Hopefully the remaining mobs don't kill anyone. Double pincer Garuda with PP, and if you can kill some of the remaining mobs first (remember the pincer order: mover-triggered, then horizontal bottom-to-top, then vertical left-to-right). Garuda locks on and start glowing. Avoid the targetted tiles or you'll die. Finish any remaining mobs and pincer Garuda. Use PP if you have two stocks. Garuda fires. Double pincer Garuda with PP. She should be dead, or have very few HP remaining. If she's still not dead, just continue to pincer her while avoiding the targetted tiles. Just ignore any summoned mobs at this point. As a general advice, avoid letting her use Scorch on Ellvern or Amina. Gatekeeper - Photon Spoiler This being a Photon boss, bring Graviton or Darkness characters. Boss: At every turn, the boss will announce its attack. However, it's in reverse day mode, so what it announces is the opposite of its attack. So "HORIZONTAL" means Column attack, "VERTICAL" means Row attack, "LEFT" means the three right columns, and "RIGHT" means the three left columns. At ~50% HP, it will announce "???" and starts glowing. Next turn it will do a Cross All attack that inflicts various debuffs. Then it resumes its pattern. At ~20% HP, it will start glowing, indicating it enters berserk mode. It will do a 4x6 attack, then an All attack. If it still isn't dead, it will spam Deblitatng Steam, All, which will inflict nasty ailments every turn. It will summon minions every few turns. Minions: Faraches. Use Breath Attack after moving. Respawns every few turns. Usually easy to kill, but sometimes there's a tougher one that has triple HP. Fotoloth. The annoying one. There are two of them, and they will form a wire that connects them. Anyone standing in the wire will take major Photon damage. If you kill only one of them, the boss will revive it and heal the other to full, so you need to kill them both on the same turn. Also, they use Breathe Attack before moving. My team: Seiryu^ + Axion Dragon Z - Use Matk buff and all Darkness skills. Seiryu + Axion Dragon Z - Use Matk buff and all Darkness skills Puprope^ + Axion Dragon - All Darkness skill and HP+20% Shin'en^ + Axion Dragon z - All Graviton skills and Anti-Photon shield Amina^ + any Control time companion - All heal skills and CT+2 Sh'berdan^ + Zerro's Staff - All Darkness skill, one more put whatever As you can see with the presence of Puprope^ and no Zerro(s), this isn't really optimal. Anyway, the Seiryus will buff each other, and Sh'berdan randomly buffs others. If you have better DPS than Puprope and Shberdan they should be the first to get replaced. Strategy: General advice: PP charges very slowly, so save them for the end. First turn, just focus on the mobs on the bottom. If you connect Shinen in the chain you should be able to kill them all. Boss will do a column attack, and the wires will move randomly. For the next few turn, focus on killing the wires while avoiding boss attacks. Try to use Amina's Extend Chain to chain all units. If you can chain all units, they should go down in two turns. Now that the major annoyances gone, if there's no adds, just double pincer the boss every turn while avoiding its attacks. In case of "LEFT"/"RIGHT", all your characters can tank one hit and survive with critical health, so double pincer away. In the next turn, move the injured units away from the boss' AoE and chain Amina to heal them back to full. If the boss summon minions (usually two weaks and one tough), focus on killing them first. Don't get in the boss AoE at all while the adds are still alive. You don't want to risk the add attacking the severely injured unit and killing him. Shin'en is the safest best though if you really need to get someone in the boss' AoE. When the boss glows and announces "???", don't pincer and stay away from Cross All area. Resume attacking the next turn. When the boss reaches low HP it will start glowing. Use a PP and double pincer it, hopefully killing it. If not, it will do a 4x6 attack, but your units can still survive it. Heal away and continue double pincer with PP and it will go down. Rewards: Light Mirror - Radiance, Pincer Area(1) Gatekeeper (Luck) - Luxon, Pincer Area(1) Pavise of Genji (Luck) - Barrier, Adjacent Quyat - Graviton Spoiler Boss: First turn, he will do a Shadowbind, Area(1) He will do Axion Attack, Column and then mark 2 tiles with Fist Charge. He does a Breathe, Area(2), and then summon two Quyat Fists. Twisters will appear on the row of each fist. The Fists will do Breath Area(1). Quyat then dismisses the fists with Fist Heal, do a column attack, remove Graviton resistances, and summon three minions. Shadowbind, Cross(2) Repeat from step 2. At low HP, Quyat will not summon minions during step 4. Then he proceeds normally until he summons two Quyat Fists, at which point he will announce "a massive energy is gathering" and glows. After this he will do Axion Attack, 3 Column twice, and finally Axion Attack, All. Minions: Aephos. Weak minions, can be easily killed with one or two pincers. Does Breathe Attacks. Respawn after each "Fist" phase Quyat Fists. Summoned with Fist Charge. Can't be damaged at all. Creates twisters on their rows. Does Breathe, Area (1). Doesn't move. My team: Samatha^ + Holy Dragon Z - All Thunder skills and Matk+ Ba'gunar^ + Ba'gunar O - All Thunder skills Sh'berdan^ + Jennish's Staff - All Thunder skills and one whatever Amina^ + Tronic Gal - All heal skills Jennish^ + Holy Dragon Z - All Thunder skills A'merpact^ + Holy Dragon Z - Capsule and all survival skills A'merpact is there for Samatha to eat capsules, and also because he has both stackable Matk and is a Lizardfolk, so Bagunar can buff him. Samatha will be the main mover, and Amina can buff her for even more CT. Strategy: Again, PP charges very slowly, so save them for until the end. First turn, kill two or three minions while avoiding Area(1) of the boss. Avoid boss column while killing the remaining minion. Your characters can survive one hit from the boss, so you can put someone in the AoE if the mob is otherwise unreachable. Double pincer the boss. Make sure Amina isn't near the corners. Twister time. Your unit can survive passing through the twister once. Pincer the boss with Amina in chain, she'll heal any injuries to full even with only a single pincer. The boss will do a column attack and summon minions. He'll do a Shadowbind Cross 2 next, so avoid those area while killing the mobs. Heal anyone injured if you have any. Repeat step 2. At low HP he will not summon minions after absorbing the fists. Stay away from Cross(2) area. After this, just double pincer him every turn, spending all your saved up PP. All your units can survive his attacks, so don't worry about the 3 columns, as Amina can heal them. You should be able to kill him before he does Axion, All. If he does Axion, All, you're dead. Rewards: Weighty Mirror - Crush, Pincer Area (1) Quyat (Luck) - Gravity, Pincer Area (1) King's Shield (Luck) - Shadowbind Ward Apostolos - Moon Spoiler Boss: First turn, he will put up a barrier. He will cast Blizzard, All every turn until you break the barrier. If you don't break the barrier in three turns, he'll cast Death, All. If you break the barrier with enough Fire/Sun damage, he will say "Servant of the Moon". Get away, because he'll do Lunacy, 3 Rows next. Lunacy, 3 Rows Full Moon Attack, 1 row, followed.by Breathe, Area (2). He'll then summon 2 Toykos. Row attack, followed by Lunacy, Border Row attack, followed by summoning 2 Aeryth. Repeat to step 4. At around 50% HP, there will be a prompt "the temperature is decreasing", with snow crystals effects on the boss. This is in addition to whatever he's doing at the time. If you deal enough Fire/Sun damage in previous turn, he continues his regular pattern. If not, he forms the shield. Go to step 1 if he forms the shield. At low HP, there will be a prompt "massive energy starts gathering" and he starts glowing, indicating berserk mode. He'll do Cross All attack and summon two Toykos for two turns. Afterwards, he'll spam Full Moon Attack!!, Cross All and Lunacy, Cross All. Minions: Aeryth: Does Icebind, Vertical (1) before moving. Ice elemental, so can be killed easily with Fire. Toykos: Does Breathe Attack, goes down in one or two pincers. My team: Daiana^ + Sun King Z - All Fire skills and capsule. Bahamut^ + Sun King - All Fire skills Nakupi^ + Lewto Aura - Fire support skills. Two other are whatever. Koko^ + Sun King Z - All Fire skills Amazora^ + Sun King - All Fire skills and Matk buff Amina^ + Tronic Gal See? No Lewto. Nakupi's there because I don't have anymore Fire characters at 100L. Koko will be the main mover and Daiana will spawn capsules for her to eat. Strategy: Like the other bosses, PP charges very slowly so save it for last turns. First turn, kill the two minions. Do horizontal pincers if you can't kill them in one turn. Kill any remaining minions, and double pincer the boss. If the shield doesn't break, keep attacking until it breaks. Shield broken. He's going to do Lunacy 3 Rows, so get away. Double pincer vertically. He'll summon two minions. Focus on killing minions, avoid the boss row and the border if you can. Either you kill all minions, or nobody gets inflicted with Lunacy. It's bad if you have someone with Lunacy and still have any minions alive. Kill any remaining minions, because he'll summon other minions soon. Don't forget to remove Lunacy-inflicted characters from the chain, especially with Amina around. Focus on the Aeryths. At around 50% HP, he'll start to form the shield. It's really up to you if you want to let him form the shield or not. It's easy enough to break. Repeat the above steps until he reaches low HP. At low HP, he'll start glowing. Double pincer him every turn with your PP. He'll do Cross All attack, which will hurt your characters severely but not kill them. Continue double pincer until he dies. Rewards: Tranquil Mirror - Moonlight, Pincer Area(1) Apostolos (Luck) - Luna, Pincer Area (1) Lunacy Shield v2 (Luck) - Lunacy Ward Agartha - Physical Spoiler Boss: Starts as no weapon, does Breathe Attack, Area(1). Switches to Sword Venomous Attack, Row. Switches to Bow. Venomous Attack, Area 1. Switches to Spear. Summons a Botis if there's none on the field. Venomous Attack, Column. Switches to no weapons and glows. Removes all.buffs and summons two Cedeloth. Breathe Attack, Area (2). This attack does heavy damage. Switches to Sword. Returns to step 2. At 50% HP, it'll cast Impair Skills, All that lasts for a turn. At 20% HP, it goes into berserk mode. Casts Impair Skills, All that lasts for several turn, and he uses the larger AoE version for each weapon. 3 Rows for Sword, Area 2 for Bows, and 3 Columns for Spear. Minions: Cedeloth: The weak minion. Goes down in one or two pincer. Uses Energy Bullet after moving which apparently is magical because it triggers Shin'en's counter. Basically magic Breathe Attack. Botis: The annoying POS. Casts Barrier on a random unit every turn. Barrier reduces damage by a whole lot. Super annoying if it cast it in itself. Pretty tough, need several pincers to kill. Also does Energy Bullet before moving. Strategy: Trinity + double physical taps. I'll just point you to @Rydia 's awesome guide. https://terrabattleforum.com/threads/agartha-2-turns-kill-100l-team.13752/ Thanks for reading and happy boss killing! Feedbacks and critiques are welcome. I'll try doing Garuda properly when I have enough MKZ. And maybe no-tap Agartha. Garuda done!
